Subscription Terms

Last updated 8 September 2026

In short

Premium is 49 kr a month or 349 kr a year, billed by Apple. The free trial is 3 days and only on the yearly plan. It renews automatically until you cancel, which you do in your App Store settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Premium raises the receipt-scan allowance to 500 a month and 100 a day. Buying it makes every trip you are on premium for everyone on that trip, which is the point.

Version 1.5. Effective 8 September 2026.

These terms are part of the Terms of Service and are between you and Adam Hessel.

What it costs

  • Monthly - 49 kr per month.
  • Yearly - 349 kr per year.

Those are the Swedish prices. Apple sets the equivalent price in your own currency for your App Store region, and the exact amount you will be charged is always shown on the purchase screen before you confirm. Prices include VAT where it applies.

The free trial

The free trial is 3 days and it is available on the yearly plan only. There is no trial on the monthly plan.

It is offered once. If you have used a Deline trial before, Apple will not offer it again, and the purchase screen shows you the price you will actually pay rather than a trial you are not eligible for.

If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it turns into a paid yearly subscription and you are charged 349 kr. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends and you are charged nothing.

Auto-renewal and cancelling

The subscription renews automatically. Apple charges your App Store account at the start of each new period, and it keeps renewing until you cancel.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, or the next period is charged. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for - you keep premium until then.

You cancel in your Apple account, not in Deline: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions, then Deline. The app links straight to that screen from the premium section of your profile.

We cannot cancel or refund on your behalf. Apple takes the payment, holds the billing relationship and handles refunds. We never see your card details. If you want a refund, request it through Apple's own process at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refuses and you think that is wrong, email us and we will help where we can, but the decision is Apple's.

What premium includes

Premium raises the receipt-scanning allowance, and it does so for whole trips rather than only for the person who bought it. The exact limits:

Without premium

  • 5 receipt scans per trip, shared by everyone on that trip, for the life of the trip. They are not refilled monthly or on any other schedule.

With premium

  • 500 scans per calendar month, and
  • 100 scans per day,

whichever runs out first. Both are counted against the subscriber's account and are pooled across every trip they have made premium - one subscription is one allowance of 500 a month in total, not 500 per trip. The monthly count resets at the start of each calendar month and the daily count at the start of each day.

On both tiers

  • A rate limit of 5 scans per minute per person per trip, to stop one device locking up the service for the rest of the group.

There is also a ceiling of 100 free scans per account per rolling year, which exists to stop someone collecting free allowances by creating trip after trip. Ordinary use does not come close to it - it is roughly twice what the heaviest realistic year of real trips would use.

When an allowance runs out, the app says which limit was reached and when it lifts. Scanning stops; nothing else about the app does.

What your trip-mates get

This is the part worth reading twice, because it changes what you are paying for.

A trip is premium if any member of it has premium. Buy a subscription and every trip you are on becomes premium for everyone on it, immediately. Your trip-mates do not need to buy anything and are not asked to.

What that means in practice:

  • Shared tools spill. Anyone on your trip can scan receipts against the premium allowance - and the scans they use come out of your monthly and daily allowance, because it is attached to your account.
  • Personal things do not. The subscription itself, and anything tied to your own account, stay yours alone. Your trip-mates do not become subscribers, do not get premium on their own other trips, and cannot manage or cancel your subscription.
  • It ends when your subscription does. If you cancel or it lapses, those trips stop being premium unless somebody else on them has it.
  • If two people on one trip have premium, scans are drawn from one of them first - the one named in the receipt-scanning box on the trip's Group tab - and from the other only when the first has run out.

Other members can see that the trip is premium and who is providing it: the receipt-scanning box on the Group tab names them, and a Premium badge appears beside each subscriber in the member list. They cannot see your expiry date, what you paid, which plan you are on, or anything else about your subscription.

Your right to withdraw (ångerrätt)

Under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (distansavtalslagen 2005:59), you normally have14 days to withdraw from a distance contract for a digital service, without giving a reason.

There is an exception, and it matters here: if you ask for the service to start immediately and acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right once it has been fully performed, the right can end early. Buying premium gives you access straight away, so by completing the purchase you are asking for it to start immediately.

In practice you have two routes and the second is usually faster:

  • Withdrawal - email support@deline.dev within 14 days of buying and say you are withdrawing. We will not argue about whether the exception applies; we will pass it to Apple and support the refund.
  • Apple's refund process - request it at reportaproblem.apple.com. Since Apple holds the money, this is the route that actually moves it, and it is available whether or not the withdrawal right still applies.

Starting a free trial does not use up your withdrawal right, because nothing has been charged yet. If you cancel during the trial you pay nothing and there is nothing to withdraw from.

Nothing here removes any right Swedish or EU consumer law gives you.

Changes to the price or the plan

If the price changes, Apple tells you before the change takes effect and asks you to agree before charging the new amount for a renewal. If we change what premium includes, the version number and date at the top of this page change with it, and a significant reduction will be announced in the app in advance.

Quotas may be adjusted to keep the service viable. If a limit goes down, that is announced before it takes effect. The current numbers are the ones on this page.
