Common questions

When is Deline out?

iOS in August 2026. Android follows.

Does Deline handle the money?

No. Deline records what everyone spent and works out the transfers that settle the group up. You pay each other however you already do.

What happens to a receipt photo?

It is read automatically so the items and amounts can be filled in for you, and it is kept with the expense so you can check it later. Delete it from the expense and it is deleted from storage. The privacy policy explains the whole path, including the text extraction step.

I have forgotten my password.

Ask for a reset link at deline.dev/forgot-password, or from the sign-in screen in the app. The link goes to a page on this website rather than into the app, which is deliberate: people ask for a reset on a phone and open the email on a laptop, and a flow that only finishes in the app breaks in exactly that case. Set the new password there, then open Deline and sign in with it.

Reset links work once and stop working after a short time, so if you ask more than once, use the newest email. If nothing arrives, look in your junk folder before asking again.

I was sent an invite link and nothing happened.

Open the link again and you will land on a page showing the invite code in full. Install Deline, then enter that code in the app to join the trip. The code works on its own, so the invite is not lost even when the link will not open. Invites do expire, though, and the owner of a trip can reset them - so if a code is refused, ask for a fresh one.

My invite arrived as plain text I can't tap.

Some apps do not turn links into tappable ones. Copy the whole address into Safari, or ask whoever invited you to read you the code - it is twelve characters and deliberately avoids letters that look like numbers. Codes from older invites are sixteen characters and are still accepted.

Can I use Deline on Android?

Not yet. iOS comes first and Android is planned. An invite code you have been given now will still work when it arrives.

How do the receipt scan limits work?

Five scans per trip without a subscription, shared by the whole group. With Premium it is 500 a month and 100 a day, counted against the subscriber and pooled across all of their trips. The subscription terms set out all of it, including what your trip-mates get when you subscribe.

Account deletion

You can delete your account yourself, in the app: open your Profile, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account. You do not need to contact us and you do not need to give a reason.

Your login, your name, your picture and your notification token are deleted. The amounts on each trip stay, attached to a former member rather than to you, so the other people's balances still add up. The account deletion page lists exactly what goes and what is kept, and covers what to do if you cannot get into the app, or if you were added to a trip and never had an account at all.
